Holiday Home Tour

The Holidays are so much fun and I love to celebrate that cheer with festive holiday décor in our home! There is something about pops of red that just make my heart excited and feel the joy of the holidays! Last year was our first Christmas in our House on Herzog. Ryan had to work his shift at the hospital and was not home to celebrate, so I kept the décor pretty minimal. However, this year, we will get to celebrate our first Christmas together as a family of three on Christmas Day! I am so thrilled to start these memories together so forgive me if the décor is a little over board.

Our home is quite small so it was imarative to have a design that flowed well from room to room. I tried my best to incorporate our blues with the festive ho ho ho red throughout. To create a focal point when you walk in through the front door, I placed the boxwood wreath from home goods  and I love added interest a circle wreath gives on our accent wall of all squares. The command strips worked perfect to support the wreath and are so easy to remove if I decide to take it down after the holidays... I may just place something more neutral in its place since I love this look!

Fresh floral is a very easy way to add color and texture! I tend to spoil myself with flowers on my weekly trips to the grocery store making it really easy to change up the look too.

With limited room on our TV stand, I opted for a simple kid friendly garland from Target and a few christmas trees. I also have used the Christmas trees as table centerpieces too, love decor that is versitle!

My biggest obstacle this year was creating a look that was toddler friendly. Clark is now tall enough to reach just over the tabletop and counters in our kitchen and can touch the third shelf on our bookshelf. This may seam little to some but it creates for lots of rearranging! My biggest tip for yall is to purchase décor items that are made from more stable materials, wood, cloth, plastic, metal, that will hold up to kiddos banging it on tile, walls or putting it in their mouths. Yes, we have had all the above happen. I do have a couple glass items that I like to display, but opt to put these on higher shelves out of reach of little hands.

I love these great gift boxes from Sugar Paper that I found at target and I am sure everyone has fallen in love with. They also have a great selection of other office items that are so cute and may make it into my stocking this year!

I have made it a tradition to cook a big Christmas Eve Dinner (wait, does last year and this year count as a tradition?) I plan to make a big meal each year for our kiddos and have Ryan's mom over as well to join in the fun. These chairs were my black friday purchase from wayfair that I chose because they are so sturdy and wipe down very easy. I also love the contrast of the white against the wood grain.

Simple tablescape this year to leave lots of room for piles of food!

These glass goblets were the perfect fun touch to our table. My husband thought I was crazy since it took me three different stores to gather the six glasses we needed, but years of family holidays with these beauties will be well worth it!

Thanks for stoping by for our House on Herzog Holiday Home Tour! I hope you found some things inspiring or found a great idea to create your perfect holiday home! Merry Christmas to you and your family this year!
