Homemade Peach Cobbler

I love the warm days that roll around the beginning of June, the mark to the start of summer. It means pool days, sunshine, sticky popsicle fingers and long nights eating al fresco on the front porch. Its also the start of Peach Season, a favorite of mine. Peaches are abundent around here as there are many orchards nearby in Fredericksburg. I get so excited for the first crop that becomes available, ready to sink my teeth into the flesh of that sweet juicy fruit! Even better than eating them straight from the orchards is baking up homemade peach cobbler, topped with a sweet vanilla ice cream! Its such a southern staple and an annual tradition of mine as soon as that first crop is available each year!

I was so excited to see peaches available a few week early this year and picked up a bunch at a local farmers market this weekend! After a long day playing outside, I baked my recipe for homemade peach cobbler and enjoyed eating it outside on the front porch, the perfect ending to a great day!
